My staple summer makeup products (2017)

Processed with VSCO with k3 presetHope you’re having a lovely and productive new year so far guys! Happy 2017!

New year means summer weather getting hotter and hotter here in Australia and I’m so excited to share with you some of my favourite products in my everyday makeup for this summer. As it gets really hot and sunny during the day, I don’t tend to wear blush or eyeliner as I get red when the weather is too hot and also eyeliner smudges on me in this kind of weather. But I promise you these products I’m about to share is going to give you a great summer complexion as well as beautiful colours to the face.

  • Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft-matte Foundation (Nude) – I only recently found out about this foundation and it seems like a drugstore dupe for NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint. It’s got great coverage and a natural matte finish, I don’t normally set this with powder though as it tends to get cakey on me.
  • Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express Mascara – Absolutely love this affordable mascara. It will give you thick and long lashes like falsies is all I’m gonna say!!
  • Too Faced Sun Bunny Bronzer – My forever favourite if I want a summer complexion! This bronzer is so pigmented it will give you a long wearing golden highlighted glow you will absolutely love omg haha!! I just love it for summer!
  • MAC Cosmetics ‘All Fired Up’ Retro Matte Lipstick – A classic bold bright pink pair of lips to go with the bronze, why not! Looking the bomb when you get to the beach with this lipstick on. I promise it will empower you as it has been doing for me! An absolute staple!!

Hope you like these products as much as I do if you have them or are going to buy them after reading this post ❤ If you are in Australia, don’t forget to wear sunscreen everyday before putting on your makeup! I love the LaRoche-Posay ones, they’re the best sunscreen and lovely on the skin 😉

Thanks for reading!

Left to right: ‘fetching’ – ‘dollface’ – ‘prim’ – ‘smashing’ – ‘beaming’

I love all the shades. The pigment is amazing, very natural on the cheeks. And have I mentioned they are the long lasting type of blushes!!

More about the shades:

  • ‘Fetching’: a rosy pink shade, perfect for a romantic or an every day look.
  • ‘Dollface’: needless to say – a very bright cool toned pink for some dolly cheekbones 🙂
  • ‘Prim’: one of my favourite shades of all time. It is a plum-ish nude shade which I love using for a more retro look.
  • ‘Smashing’: a coral pink which will instantly brighten and give your face a youthful appearance.
  • ‘Beam’: as the name has stated, is coated with sparkling shimmer for highlighted cheekbones with apricot pink shade.

I’m absolutely in love with the palette and would recommend everyone to get it. It’s a good set of blushes that are universal with long lasting power as a bonus. The packaging is to die for – it’s black and it’s bling bling! This is a limited edition product, but if you could get your hands on it, please get it cause I know you’ll love it as much as I do.

Soft Rose Makeup Look

A new makeup tutorial on how to achieve this cute romantic look!

Got my inspiration for this look from the Bourjois Blush in ‘Sienne’ – a romantic dusty rose shade, but the blush is actually too pigmented for me so I decided to use it as a transition eyeshadow shade. And it’s now one of my favourite eye look!

Enjoy the video lovelies ❤

Natural Nude Makeup Look

This time it’s a video YASS finally got time to do stuff like this 🙂

Well basically I’ve been back in Vietnam for holiday for a month and I’ve got so much more time in my hand, that’s why I decided a video would be a good idea. It’s a look I’ve been wearing a lot recently, very long lasting since it’s summer in Vietnam yet natural for a more gentle concept. Hope you enjoy it ❤

SKINCARE BASICS

Setting up this blog, one of my biggest goal is to be able to share my knowledge about skincare to all of you beautiful girls out there. The basic steps of skincare that I am writing about below are the most popular and common to help keep your skin healthy and protect it from as much harm due to makeup as possible.
skin-clean11You probably have heard of the three basic skincare steps: cleanse, tone and moisturise before. Yes, they are the most basic things you need to know, however, there are more basic components about skincare that I think are very important to consider to properly maintain good skin.
Apart from knowing your skin type, knowing how your skin is doing is also a must. That is, because your skin does not stay the same all the time, it needs to be treated a bit differently in different conditions. When being stressed, your skin will be the first to reflect how stressed you are, which means it is requiring some sort of treatment along with your common daily skincare routine. Or when the weather gets cold and dry, your skin will probably ask for more splashing of moisture and protection… Understand your skin! Be flexible with it! That will help you choose the right products for your own skin and make the most out those products.
In this post, I will explain the three steps of skincare and how to properly follow them. Also, I want to add treatments as another step in anyone’s skincare routine as, again, it is so important to understand and serve the needs of your own skin. blog-NATURAL-SKIN-CARE-PRODUCTS-IMAGE
Cleanse:
Today, most girls would at least have some makeup on during the day and removing the makeup on your face is an absolute must. So cleansing alone includes 2 steps:
– Removing make-up: use makeup removal wipes or cleansing oil to remove base and lips makeup. For eyes, use gentle eye makeup removal.
– Cleanse with your face wash to deep clean and wash off any traces left of makeup.face-cleansing
Tone:
Since your pores are opened up during cleansing. Now’s the time to tighten them all, and clean up any leftover traces of the cleansing step.
